Acknowledgement of Debt
A free acknowledgement of debt template for Kenya. Under section 23(3) of the Limitation of Actions Act, where the person liable for a debt acknowledges the claim or makes a payment towards it, the right of action accrues on the date of that acknowledgement and not before — so the six-year limitation period in section 4(1)(a) starts again. Section 24(1) requires the acknowledgement to be in writing and signed by the person making it.

Affidavit
A free affidavit template for Kenya, laid out to Order 19 of the Civil Procedure Rules: first person, consecutively numbered paragraphs, and the deponent’s description, true place of abode and postal address. It is not an affidavit until it is sworn before a commissioner for oaths, who must state the place and the date in the jurat.

Authorisation Letter
A free authorisation letter template for Kenya, for when you need someone to do one named thing on your behalf — collect a certificate, sign for goods, present a claim at a counter. It names the person, the task and the dates, and it is revocable. It is not a power of attorney: anything to do with land, a bank mandate or continuing authority needs that instrument instead.

Board Resolution
A free board resolution template for Kenya. Under section 210 of the Companies Act a company must record minutes of all proceedings at directors’ meetings and keep them for at least seven years. Section 211 is what makes the document worth producing: minutes recorded under section 210 and authenticated by the person presiding are evidence of the proceedings, and the meeting is presumed to have been duly held and convened.

Cease and Desist Letter
A free cease and desist letter template for Kenya. The letter itself has no statute behind it — it is correspondence — but it creates a dated record that the conduct was brought to the recipient’s attention, and in a defamation case it asks for the correction and apology the Defamation Act treats as amends. Mind the clock: section 4(2) of the Limitation of Actions Act allows three years for a tort, and only twelve months for libel or slander.

Demand Letter for Payment
A free demand letter for an unpaid debt in Kenya. It asks for payment by a stated date and invites a written reply, because under section 23(3) of the Limitation of Actions Act a signed acknowledgement of the debt — or any part payment — makes the limitation period run afresh from that date.

Employment Contract
A free employment contract template for Kenya, laid out to section 10(2) of the Employment Act, which lists the eleven particulars a written contract of service must state. A contract for three months or more has to be in writing under section 9(1), and section 9(2) puts the duty to draw it up on the employer.

Letter of Consent
A free letter of consent template for Kenya. Consent works when it is given for a stated purpose: section 30(1) of the Data Protection Act permits processing where the data subject consents to it for one or more SPECIFIED purposes. So this letter names the purpose, what is covered, who may rely on it, how long it lasts and how to withdraw it — a letter consenting to "the use of my information" specifies nothing.

Loan Agreement
A free loan agreement template for Kenya, for a private loan between individuals or small businesses. It records the amount, the repayment dates, any interest and any security. An action to recover the money must be brought within six years under section 4(1)(a) of the Limitation of Actions Act — though under section 23(3) each payment the borrower makes, and each written acknowledgement they sign, starts that period again.

Non-Disclosure Agreement
A free non-disclosure agreement template for Kenya. An NDA binds because the parties agreed it — there is no NDA statute — so the words have to do the work: define what is confidential, carve out what is not, and set a term. Where the information shared is personal data, the Data Protection Act applies on its own terms; section 30(1) prohibits processing without the data subject’s consent for specified purposes or one of the listed necessities, and no agreement between two other parties can set that aside.

Notice to Vacate
A free notice to vacate template for Kenya. Which rules apply depends on the tenancy. For a controlled tenancy — a shop, hotel or catering establishment — section 4 of the Landlord and Tenant (Shops, Hotels and Catering Establishments) Act requires notice in the prescribed form, giving at least two months, stating the grounds, and asking the tenant to reply within one month; the tenant may refer it to the Tribunal, which stops it taking effect. For rent-restricted residential premises, section 15 of the Rent Restriction Act requires writing and not less than one month ending at the end of a tenancy month.

Residential Tenancy Agreement
A free residential tenancy agreement for Kenya, drawn from the Land Act and the Law of Contract Act. It is in writing, signed by both parties and witnessed, because section 3(3) of the Law of Contract Act requires all three before anyone can sue on it.

Sale Agreement
A free sale agreement template for Kenya, for the sale of goods — a vehicle, machinery, stock or furniture — under the Sale of Goods Act. It records the price, when the property in the goods passes, and the conditions and warranties sections 14 to 16 imply into every sale. For a sale of land you need a different document: Law of Contract Act section 3(3) requires writing, every party’s signature, and a witness to each.

Statutory Declaration
A free statutory declaration template for Kenya, laid out to the form in the Schedule to the Oaths and Statutory Declarations Act. A magistrate or commissioner for oaths takes the declaration of a person voluntarily making and subscribing it before them. Use it where a bank, registry or employer wants a fact sworn to outside court proceedings — if the document is for a case, you need an affidavit instead.
